Each year, Y6 stage an ambitious end of year production which combines a dramatic script with dance. This year’s work is titled StreetDust – a story about street children. All of Y6 are fully involved at all levels :

We have written the script, created the dances, scenery and props.

We will be designing a lighting plan and will operate the lights and all aspects of audio visual effects.

We based the play on a book called 'The Garbage King' by Elizabeth Laird. The production is now fully underway and we invite you to our performances.

Yes. You get to do what you want and make an impact.

Is it irritating not having a main part?
It was to start with because I thought I had a good chance, but now I’m glad I have Sofia instead.

Have you had fun when your not acting?
Yes. Practising dance and logistics.

Are you having to work extra hard after being away for 2 weeks on holiday?
Yes,as I am behind a lot in my acting.

Do you think of yourself as a good actor?
Yes. I have had a lot of practice.

Were the auditions hard to get through?
Not extremely hard, but they weren’t easy.

Are you relieved you got the part?
Yes. I wouldn’t want to not have an acting part.

Do you feel you have a big part?
Yes. Not main but big.

Learning the script because it is really hard to learn that many words.

An interview with Gemma - Bernadette

How do you feel about acting close to Alex (Mamo) and Ed (Salmenio)?
It's alright and I don't really mind but I am slightly nervous about holding hands !

How do you feel about getting married?
Nervous because I don't know Ed very well but it won't stop me acting. If I had a choice I would not include the marraige.

Are you glad you got the part of Bernadette?
Yes. I am very happy and glad because I have not had a large acting part before.

Do you enjoy acting?
Yes. I especially love learning the script.

Do you feel that yours is a main part when some people say that Kirstie(Rosita) has more to say.
She is in lots of scenes but has little to say. I am in less scenes and have lots to say.

Do you think you have done enough to make the production better?
I hope so. I worked really hard and it would be a brilliant reward.
